Elizabeth Matthews, M.S. Ed., BCBA, LBA
After completing her undergraduate degree in psychology at Wells College in upstate New York in 2002, Liz relocated to Boston to work for Melmark New England. Following two years in the field she began pursuing her Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification (BCBA) and master’s degree in Behavioral Education at Simmons College, while working as an alternative education teacher for the Merrimack Education Center. After graduating from Simmons in 2006 Liz spent time assisting with social skills groups for children with autism at Advances Learning Center in Newton, Massachusetts and as a Lead Behavior Liaison with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School District in North Carolina.
In February of 2007, Liz relocated to the Tidewater area after accepting a position as the Licensed Behavioral Analyst, Regional Leader with CA Human Services (CAHS). In this newly created position, Liz was pivotal in CAS’s innovative partnership with Southeastern Cooperative Educational Programs (SECEP), where she was responsible for staff training, classroom support, and guidance in regard to behavior analytic practices.
By October 2008, following her successful collaboration with CAHS and SECEP, Liz was inspired to start her own company, EMG Consulting LLC. This was motivated by Liz’s passion to develop a platform that would adequately support providers practicing high quality Applied Behavior Analysis.
Additionally, Liz also held a position as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Mary Washington in 2010, teaching students in their Applied Behavior Analysis coursework program and served two terms as treasurer for the Tidewater Association for Behavior Analysis (TABA) and as Conference Co-Chair for the Virginia Association for Behavior Analysis (VABA).
Hannah Bademian, BCBA, LBA
Hannah began working with individuals with autism in 2012 as an Instructor for the Peninsula School for Autism in Newport News, VA. Following completion of her Master’s degree in Special Education in 2013, Hannah worked as a Special Educator for Suffolk Public Schools and as a Teacher Specialist for Southeastern Cooperative Educational Programs (SECEP), until 2018 where she earned her BCBA. In 2018 she joined the Center for Autism and Related Disorders as a Clinical Manager. Hannah returned to the education world fulfilling a Teacher role at Plan Bee Academy and then joined the EMG team in 2019 with the desire to provide direct services with clients receiving home based services.
Ashley Colon, BCBA, LBA
Ashley has been working for EMG Consulting LLC since its start up days in October 2008, as one of the very first therapists on the team, while conjunctively teaching for Southeastern Cooperative Educational Programs (SECEP) as a Special Education Teacher. Ashley worked for SECEP for 13 years and held positions as an Elementary Special Education Teacher for children with Autism for 3 years, a Middle School Special Education Teacher in a Center Based Program for children with Emotional Disturbance for 5 years, a Transition Level/High School Special Education teacher for young adults with Autism for 5 years, an Educational Specialist during the Extended School Year program for 6 years, and as a Mentor for over 9 years. She is currently a Self-Contained Elementary Special Education Teacher for Hampton City Public Schools.
Ashley received her undergraduate degree in upstate New York at Lemoyne College, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in English, with a Minor in Dual Childhood/Special Education. She began working on her Master’s Degree immediately upon graduating from LeMoyne, through the State University of New York at Oswego. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Special Education with a Minor in Reading. She currently holds a Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in Elementary Education (PreK-6), Emotional Disturbance (K-12), Intellectual Disabilities (K-12), and Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12). In 2014 she obtained her Certification and License as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Ashley is also a member of the Virginia Association for Behavior Analysis (VABA).

Tracie Mauch, BCBA, LBA
Tracie started as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBCBA) at EMG in 2015 after retiring from the Southeastern Cooperative Educational Programs (SECEP). She began as a teacher of students with Autism at SECEP in 1998 and in 2015 retired as an Assistant Director of Programs where she supervised multiple specialized education programs and their staff. In November 2011, Tracie earned her BCBA credential.
During her professional career Tracie has presented at national, regional, and local conferences, speaking on various topics related to instruction for students with Autism. She collaborated to create and teach the Autism Certificate Program at Regent University from 2004-2007, was published in the RDI and Education Book, and served on the Virginia Autism Council from 2010-2016.
Currently, Tracie works for Virginia Beach City Public Schools as a Liaison for Residential and Private Day Programs and is the case manager for VBCPS students placed in private day and residential settings. As their case manager, she is required to maintain all special education documents by coordinating teams from the students’ current educational facility, individualized staff from Virginia Beach Human Services, their home school, and other professionals.
Jennifer McMurtrie, M.S. Ed., BCBA, LBA

Jenn became a behavior analyst in 2015 and began working with EMG Consulting in 2016. Previously, she worked for Southeastern Cooperative Educational Programs (SECEP), from 2003 to 2018, holding positions as a Special Education Teacher and an Education Specialist. Jenn received her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington in Athletic Training Sports Medicine. While working as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Chesapeake and Virginia Beach Public Schools her passion for working with children emerged and she then completed her master’s degree in Special Education with endorsements for Emotional Disturbance and Specific Learning Disabilities from Old Dominion University. Jenn then went on to complete the coursework to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) at the Florida Institute of Technology. Jenn is a member of the Virginia Association for Behavior Analysis (VABA) and the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA).
Emily Muise, BCBA, LBA
Emily joined EMG Consulting in 2012 and received her certification as a BCBA in 2014. Over the years she has been a teacher, a teacher specialist, and an education specialist for the Southeastern Cooperative Education Program (SECEP) supporting classrooms for students with autism and other significant disabilities, and has supported students ranging in age from preschool through 21. She completed her bachelor’s degree in history with accompanying teacher certification for special education and general childhood education from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY in 2007 and earned a master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education with an annotation in severe emotional and behavioral disabilities in 2010 from Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY. She relocated to the Hampton Roads area for a teaching job in 2010 and has been here ever since! Her interests in the field of behavior analysis focus on supporting parents properly utlizing ABA techniques, the implementation of behavior analysis in public schools, behavioral skills training for social skills, and support for post-secondary and transition services for students preparing to exit the school system.

Monique earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with concentrations in Applied Behavior Analysis and Neuroscience from Mercyhurst University in 2015, and her Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida in 2018. Monique joined EMG Consulting in 2019 as a BCBA/LBA after gaining experience in the school, home and community settings with a diverse caseload of clients ranging from ages 18 months to 60. She is originally from Jamaica and resides in the Hampton Roads area with her husband and their son.
Jessica Wilburn, BCBA, LBA
In 2008, Jessica completed her undergraduate degree in education (K-3) with an emphasis in special education at Old Dominion University. She continued her education there, pursuing her Master’s in Education degree for students with disabilities (K-12), which was completed in 2010.
Upon her graduation, Jessica began working for Southeastern Cooperative Educational Programs (SECEP) initially as a teacher and now as an Education Specialist. During her years as a classroom teacher, Jessica taught a 4th and 5th grade academic classroom which was a mix between self-contained and inclusion for students with Autism. Now as an Education Specialist, she supports teachers in the classroom with students who present a variety of disabilities including emotional disabilities, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, ADHD, and Autism.
Jessica received her BCBA certificate in November of 2014 and joined EMG Consulting the following year. She has spent time working with clients in the private setting, separate public school, public school, and in both home and hospital settings.
Working with EMG, Jessica has enjoyed generalizing her skills to the in-home setting and the opportunity to volunteer at events sponsored by EMG.
